This workshop is design for bridge practitioners, researchers, and students. The workshop focuses on Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) and introduction of two novel advanced materials in bridge engineering. ABC offers many advantages over conventional bridge construction methods. ABC reduces on-site construction, provides better durability and quality for bridge components, limits traffic disruptions, minimizes environmental impacts, among many other advantages. In this presentation the state-of-the-art innovations for ABC with a focus on precast concrete will be provided. Furthermore, the use of two advanced materials, ultra-high-performance concrete and titanium alloy bars, within the context of ABC and retrofitting of reinforced concrete structures will be presented. Latest research accompanied by real-life applications, and analysis using software packages will also be discussed.
